Guests Gathered in London for Event Exploring China’s 20th Party Congress
China still presents an abundant number of investment opportunities to UK brands. This was one of the key messages that guests took away from CBBC’s Party Congress Event, held on the 3rd of November at CBBC’s London Offices hosted by our Chief Executive, Andrew Seaton and China Policy Analyst, Torsten Weller.
The event gave Member companies the opportunity to ‘detangle’ and address their questions about the recently concluded Party Congress of China’s Communist Party (CPC). Much of the discussion centered around the significance of the Party Congress and of its pending influence on China over the next five years.
Despite China’s currently slow economic growth and the push for a more self-reliant economy, trade and foreign direct investment will still be vital for China: and UK companies must continue to embrace the opportunities offered by the Chinese market. Whilst China’s zero-covid policy still dominates the headlines, it is not all gloom and doom, as foreign companies must remember that China remains one of the world’s most dynamic and technologically advanced markets.
Are you eager to hear more from our experts here at CBBC, or do you have any lingering questions to ask?
Then, don’t miss our upcoming China Chat on the 17th of November in London where CBBC’s Torsten Weller - alongside a leading panel of speakers - will be going into more depth on what the Party Congress means for UK consumer brands.
