• Request their employer or business partner (if wishing to travel for business) in China to make an application to the department of foreign affairs (or commerce) in the relevant Municipality or Province to seek approval for their return to work or business travel to China. Once approved, a "notice of approval" will be issued. ​CBBC recommends that you contact the local branch of the department of foreign affairs in the first instance and they will clarify if they can issue the approval or the department of commerce.
• Take a nucleic acid test for Coronavirus in the UK at a medical institution designated by the UK Government and obtain certification for testing negative for COVID-19.
• Book an appointment with the Consular section of the Chinese Embassy by emailing to zj_uk@mfa.gov.cn, and submit an application for a Chinese visa. Note the appointment can only be booked after the approval is received from the competent department of foreign affairs (or commerce) of the relevant Municipality or Province.
