University of Dundee
The University of Dundee is one of Scotland’s leading universities and is home to a community of 17,000 students with 25% of its student population coming from outside the UK. It currently ranks inside the UK’s top 20 universities (Guardian University Guide 2021).
Student Recruitment
In 2016, the University of Dundee joined CBBC's Launchpad Service in Beijing to strengthen its student recruitment work on the ground and to raise the university’s profile in the China market.
A China Presence
From 2016 to present, the University of Dundee has built a dedicated team to execute all key functions of its China strategy, covering student recruitment, partnership development and marketing. The result of this has seen a constant growth in student recruitment numbers and demonstrated firm commitment to the market to their Chinese partners, prospective students, and alumni.
Being part of the higher education ecosystem within CBBC has enabled the University of Dundee’s representatives the opportunity to work with a network of peers from across the sector. With representation in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the 9-person strong team has comprehensive geographical coverage, ensuring market presence across all key pillars of the university’s China strategy. It has also ensured smooth communication with the University of Dundee’s central functions and departments. To further localise their value proposition and further enhance support services to both prospective and current students, the University of Dundee also recently launched its ‘China Student Support Hub’.
Enhanced Partnership
The University of Dundee is committed to empowering it’s graduates to play a leading role in transforming technology and sustainable development across the global economy. Since joining Launchpad, the University of Dundee has established a number of key partnerships across China, including two joint programmes with Northeast University and Wuhan University and one joint institute with the Central South University - Dundee International Institute of Central South University.
"The University of Dundee is committed to the China market and together with CBBC through the Launchpad Service, we have continued to expand our team and grow. Launchpad has provided us with a stable platform to build up a highly competent and specialised China team. They are fully integrated to both the University of Dundee team in terms of their KPIs and as part of the wider CBBC team whereby they are well supported and have access to all the support they require to excel in their work. The Launchpad programme has given us the platform to succeed in the market and it is a service that I would endorse to any academic institution seeking to advance its goals in China.”
