UK-to-China Trade Booster Launched by CBBC in Partnership with ICBC London, HSBC UK, and JD.com
Initiated by CBBC, ICBC London, HSBC UK, and JD.com, following the signing of an MoU, the Trade Booster brings together expertise in international trade, financial services, market access, and digital commerce to support UK exporters throughout their China growth journey.
The four co-founders of the Trade Booster attended and played an active role at the UK Session of the Export to China event, held in London on 1st July. The event was co-hosted by DBT and China’s MOFCOM, and co-organised by CBBC.
Alongside over 300 attendees, the event was also attended by H.E. Wang Wentao, Minister, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and The Rt Hon Peter Kyle MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade. It formed part of Minister Wang’s visit to the UK to attend the UK-China Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) on 2nd July.
The UK-to-China Trade Booster is a collaborative programme designed to help UK businesses enter, expand, and strengthen their presence in the China market through practical market preparation, stakeholder access, and in-market engagement.
The programme has been developed against the backdrop of strengthening UK-China trade cooperation, including the signing of an export to China MoU during Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to China in January 2026.
The Trade Booster is intended as a practical delivery mechanism to help translate strategic trade opportunities into measurable commercial outcomes. The programme aims to identify and support UK exporters with export readiness assessment, regulatory and compliance preparation, route-to-market guidance, stakeholder engagement, and participation in the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, with curated buyer matchmaking activities.
The programme is specifically designed to address key barriers faced by UK exporters entering China, including capability, access, execution, and continuity gaps, while creating a structured pathway from export ambition to commercial engagement.
