UK Chancellor Speaks to Chinese Vice Premier | Wednesday, 18th September
According to reports, it was a constructive conversation, discussing the opportunity to strengthen the economic relationship, not least through the resumption of the UK-China Economic & Financial Dialogue (EFD). The Chancellor and Vice Premier also discussed strategies to promote and expand cooperation in areas including financial services, the green economy, biomedicine and AI, as well as considering investment liberalisation and facilitation.
The Chancellor is quoted as saying that the UK side is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China in order to establish a stable and lasting foundation for the development of long-term and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
