Summary丨CBBC Member Visit to Nantong
On Thursday 18 July, the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) led a delegation of seven member companies on a visit to Nantong, Jiangsu province. Included in the delegation were members from the healthcare & life sciences, advanced engineering, food & agriculture, financial & professional services and education sectors, as well as representatives from the British Consulate-General in Shanghai.
Hosted in partnership with the government of Nantong and the Jiangsu provincial branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Nantong British Institutions & Multinational Corporations Matchmaking Meeting gave CBBC members the opportunity to exchange ideas with and offer feedback to government stakeholders and to meet and discussion future collaboration prospects with local companies.
Following the meeting, the delegation also toured Devro and Merck’s facilities in Nantong, so as to gain a deeper understanding of on-the-ground foreign investment in the wider Yangtze River Delta area.
Working with a wide range of Chinese government departments at the national, provincial, municipal and district levels, CBBC arranges regular meetings between decision makers and our members, in addition to site and exhibition visits of particular relevance to the UK-China investment and trading relationship.
