Premier Li Qiang Shares Message for ‘Icebreakers’ CNY Dinner
The annual ‘Icebreakers’ Chinese New Year Dinner was held on Monday, 5 February 2024, co-organised by the 48 Group Club, China Chamber of Commerce in the UK (CCCUK), and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC)
Premier Li Qiang of the State Council sent a congratulatory message, and China's Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang attended the event, reading the Premier's letter to an audience of some 400 people from the UK-China business community.
Premier Li expressed the hope that people with vision from all walks of life in China and the UK will carry forward the spirit of icebreaking, continue to take active and vigorous action and make new contributions to enhancing the friendship between the two peoples, promoting China-UK friendly cooperation, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results at a higher level.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council, said: "We are friends of pragmatism and practical cooperation. We believe that this celebration is in the interest not just of our two countries, but also in the interests of ordinary people across China and Britain, people whose health, prosperity, and security depend on and benefit from the exchanges between China and the UK."
