China Trade Tracker Released | Issue 13 – July 2026
The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) is pleased to announce the launch of its thirteenth Trade Tracker report, which provides an overview of UK-China goods trade in 2025, and a breakdown of UK regional exports from north to south.
The China Trade Tracker, launched by CBBC in 2021, serves as a reference tool offering detailed facts and figures on UK-China trade, with a particular focus on British regional exports. It draws on HMRC data compiled by CBBC.

Key Highlights:
- UK goods exports to China increased by 8.2% to £23.7 billion in 2025, an increase from 2024, when a growth rate of 1.0% was recorded.
- The UK’s largest exporters to China were the East Midlands (£4.53bn), London (£2.84bn), the West Midlands (£2.76bn), the South West (£2.26bn), the North West (£2.15bn), and Scotland (£1.78bn).
- England’s North East recorded the fastest growth in exports to China at 38.6%, followed by England’s East Midlands (28.3%), and England’s South West (21.9%).
- The North East recorded the UK’s fastest export growth to China, with exports rising 38.6% to £936 million, driven by a 315% increase in pharmaceutical products.
- Scotland’s exports to China rose 16.8% to £1.78 billion, supported by a 38.9% increase in petroleum exports and a 42.1% rise in fish and seafood exports.
- The South East reversed four consecutive years of decline, with exports to China increasing 8.6%.
