CBBC Teams up with BSI to Host Breakfast Meeting in Shenzhen
The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), in partnership with BSI, hosted a business breakfast meeting on Friday, 8 March in Shenzhen. We were joined at the event by senior representatives from BSI, RX, KPMG, E&Y, E&Y Parthenon, Savills and Honor. As part of her visit to China, Susan Taylor Martin, Chief Executive of BSI, attended the event.
Clifford Bebb, Commercial Consul, Head of Renewable Energy Trade and Investment in China at British Consulate-General Guangzhou shared the 2024 work plan for the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT), as well as the emphasis and actions for key sectors such as energy. He outlined the current challenges and urged more engagement between the UK and China in trade activities.
Wan Yang, Head of Sustainability for the APAC region at BSI, addressed ten key sustainability trends for 2024. He also discussed the ways that CBBC members could improve their corporate sustainability management through standards and assurance.
In the course of the group discussion, guests shared their business plans for 2024, and discussed about sustainability, how to respond to current challenges, international trade and UK-China relations.
