CBBC President Lord Sassoon Meets IDCPC Minister Liu Jianchao
The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) President Lord Sassoon met with Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department Central Committee of CPC (IDCPC) on Monday, 26 August in Beijing.
Also in attendance at the meeting were Lu Kang, Vice Minister of the IDCPC, Lewis Neal, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for China, Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC and representatives from six CBBC member companies.
Liu Jianchao expressed his hope that CBBC would continue to support business ties between the UK and China. "We are keen to enhance exchanges and dialogue with the UK with the aim of fostering mutual understanding and promoting healthy bilateral relations," he stated.
Lord Sassoon welcomed the recent phone conversation between Prime Minister Starmer and President Xi. The British business community continues to recognise the potential to grow trade and investment with China. Through strengthening communication and exchange, both the UK and China can benefit from each other's strengths across a wide range of industries.
