CBBC Partners with Cambridge International Education Seminar
The event brought together senior representatives from government, academia and professional bodies to share perspectives on current opportunities and developments in engineering education and research.
Proceedings began with opening and welcome remarks from Sarah Chidgey, Head of International Education at the Department for Business and Trade. This was followed by a series of keynote presentations, including Professor Liu Bin from the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Nanjing University, who discussed “Educating for Global Challenges: How NJU’s Premier Undergraduate Experience Redefines New Engineering Disciplines”. Professor Jon Frampton, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (China) at the University of Birmingham, outlined “The University of Birmingham’s Collaboration with the National Innovation Centre par Excellence”. Professor Rob Wallach, Fellow at King’s College, Cambridge, examined “AI Innovations & Sustainability in Cambridge”, and Emma Ducker, Publisher of Journals and Conference Proceedings at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), spoke on “The IET – Supporting Global Collaboration”.
Following the presentations, participants engaged in panel discussions, thematic roundtables and networking sessions, which provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences and exploring potential avenues for academic collaboration. The seminar welcomed distinguished academic guests from:
