The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) has been distributing a monthly update focusing on the upcoming events and achievements of our members and partners. It’s a chance to tell your story through our official CBBC communications.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport Celebrates Processing 25 Million E-Commerce Parcels

Glasgow, United Kingdom, Wednesday 18th February 2026: Glasgow Prestwick Airport (Prestwick) has today marked more than 25 million parcels passing through its Terminal E facility, a major milestone in the airport’s expanding e-commerce operations and its growing role in UK trade.

The achievement follows a year of sustained growth, with more than 600 e-commerce cargo flights, over 10,000 pallets, and 23,000 tonnes of imports processed since May 2025 when the first scheduled e-commerce flight landed.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport Has Been Named China Welcome of the Year Winner at the China Scotland Business Awards

The award was announced at the China Britain Business Council's annual Chinese Burns Supper event last night and recognises that the Airport has developed a genuine, long-term commitment to supporting its Chinese airline partners.

In 2025, Glasgow Prestwick Airport was delighted to welcome Air China Cargo and China Southern Airlines Cargo as new customers, with both airlines opening dedicated cargo stations at the airport. Since then, the focus has been on building not just strong operational partnerships, but strong personal relationships.

The award was announced at the China Britain Business Council's annual Chinese Burns Supper event last night and recognises that the Airport has developed a genuine, long-term commitment to supporting its Chinese airline partners.

CIMA Recognised by 2026 Hurun UK-China Contribution Awards for the promotion of professional education in China

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has been recognised by Hurun with an award honouring its contribution to strengthening the UK–China relationship through the promotion of professional education. The award was presented at a Hurun-hosted dinner in London, celebrating organisations that have played a meaningful role in fostering long-term engagement and collaboration between the two countries.

CIMA was recognised alongside a diverse group of award recipients spanning finance, education, culture, energy and consumer sectors, including Tencent, Liverpool Football Club, Octopus Energy, POP MART, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Durham University, BOSIDENG and others—reflecting the breadth and depth of UK–China cooperation across industries.

KL Communications supports on high level meetings, including Keir Starmer Visit.

KL's Managing Director, Dr Kevin Lin OBE, served as Official Interpreter during Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to China as well as during the recent visit of the Taoiseach of Ireland.

The Prime Minister’s visit marked the first engagement at this level in eight years. Among the tangible outcomes were the halving of Chinese tariffs on whisky and the introduction of visa-free travel arrangements for UK citizens — measures expected to support British exports and jobs.

During the Taoiseach’s visit, the ban on Irish pork exports to China was lifted, and a dozen agreements were signed between higher education institutions in both countries.

All members of the interpreting team have been personally trained by Dr Kevin Lin and are ready to bring the same professionalism and distinction to your event.
