CBBC meets with Nicola Sturgeon in Edinburgh to discuss China-Scotland trade
First Minister of Scotland The Rt. Hon. Nicola Sturgeon MSP hosted CBBC Chair, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, CBBC Chief Executive, Matthew Rous, and CBBC Executive Director for Service Delivery, Claire Urry at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh on 19th February.
Together they discussed how to support the continuing strong growth of Scotland’s exports to China, with the food and drink, education and energy sectors making particularly strong contributions to this.
Sir Sherard also briefed the First Minister on CBBC’s commitment to supporting the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) which is scheduled to take place in Glasgow from 9th to 19th November 2020.
CBBC is keen to receive suggestions from members on how we should use COP26 to promote both Scotland-China business ties and co-operation between businesses across China and the whole of the UK in the renewables and green technologies sector. Please do get in touch with James Brodie, Regional Director, Scotland & Northern Ireland and Energy Sector Lead (James.Brodie@cbbc.org) to share your ideas.
