CBBC Meets Guangdong Provincial Governor WANG Weizhong

WANG Weizhong, Governor of the People's Government of Guangdong Province
The dialogue was efficient, pragmatic, and brought about a consensus to further deepen cooperation between the two sides. We cordially invite British enterprises to invest and set up factories in Guangdong province and hope that the CBBC will give full play to its role as a bridge and a link to drive more British enterprises to invest in the province.
Providing detailed feedback to questions raised by our members were the heads of several departments, including the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangdong Province, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation, the Guangdong Financial Supervisory Authority, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province.

The dialogue between CBBC Members and the Guangdong Provincial Government was open and friendly.
During the meeting, CBBC Member company representatives of Haleon, Reckitt Benckiser, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, BP, Baker Hughes, IHG Intercontinental Hotels Group, and Hasbro covered a number of relevant topics related to finance, low-carbon environmental protection, science and technological innovation, the life science and health industries, tourism consumption, and the cultural industry. Relevant department representatives of the Guangdong Provincial Government responded one by one to questions and commented on the expressed visions for future cooperation in the areas discussed.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair, CBBC
This year has seen further challenges to the context for business relations, including in developments in the global economy. But CBBC and its member companies nonetheless remain committed to long-term development in China – and most particularly, in Guangdong.
