CBBC Hosts Welcome Reception for British Consul-General Shanghai

On 24 October, the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, hosted a Welcome Reception in honor of the new British Consul-General in Shanghai Mr Matt Burney. The event saw the participation of over 100 distinguished guests, including members from CBBC and BritCham Shanghai, along with government officials from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui.

Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC, and Stuart Dunn, Head of BritCham Shanghai, delivered warm welcome remarks. Tom introduced Mr Matt Burney to the attendees and expressed his hopes for the revival of various exchanges that had been impacted by geopolitical factors and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of CBBC is to re-establish these connections at all levels of the bilateral relationship.
