CBBC Hosts UK Business Delegation Visit to Jiangxi

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), in collaboration with the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province Investment Promotion Agency, organised a UK business delegation to visit Jiangxi between 22–23 April 2025. The delegation, comprising of 15 leading UK companies, was led by CBBC President Lord Sassoon. The mission involved senior British executives participating in a series of high-level dialogues and strategic site visits, aimed at exploring commercial opportunities and fostering bilateral partnerships.
The delegation met with Secretary of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee Yin Hong on Tuesday, 22 April in Nanchang.
Jiangxi Governor Spoke at Business Roundtable

On 23 April, Jiangxi Province hosted a Roundtable Conference for Foreign-funded Enterprises. Jiangxi Governor Ye Jianchun and Lord Sassoon delivered keynote speeches, with Jiangxi Vice Governor Xia Wenyong chairing the roundtable. The roundtable brought together UK delegates and representatives from multinational corporations already operating in Jiangxi. Discussions focused on sectoral collaboration, technological innovation, market expansion, and sustainable growth.
In his opening remarks, Lord Sassoon highlighted the “historic momentum” behind UK–China cooperation and praised Jiangxi’s “dynamic potential and forward momentum” that characterise its economic ecosystem. He reaffirmed that CBBC will continue to connect British expertise with Jiangxi’s priorities in advanced manufacturing, healthcare innovation, green technology and professional services of healthcare, education, finance.
Jiangxi Governor Ye Jianchun emphasised Jiangxi’s “unwavering dedication to openness,” highlighting the transformative role of multinational enterprises. He noted that the investment by global firms have not only driven their own success but also introduced cutting-edge technologies, world-class management practices, and significant employment opportunities to Jiangxi.
The UK has strengthened its position as Jiangxi Province’s fourth-largest trading partner in Europe, with bilateral economic cooperation delivering substantial results. In 2024, UK–Jiangxi trade reached £7.1 billion (RMB 63.9 billion). A total of 129 British enterprises are now operating in Jiangxi, with cumulative investment exceeding £245 million (USD 308 million).
