CBBC hosts IP roundtable with Taobao & Tmall
CBBC hosted an IP Roundtable with Taobao & Tmall Group in Shanghai on Monday 16 March. As the first CBBC IP Working Group engagement with a Chinese e-commerce platform this year, the session brought together member company representatives and officials from the UK IPO. The roundtable was chaired by Lynn Xu, Chief Representative of Shanghai & Director, Membership and Events at CBBC.
Andy Cooke-Welling, Divisional Director, Enforcement and Intelligence at the UK IPO, delivered welcome remarks, highlighting the value of CBBC’s dialogue with Chinese platforms in addressing IP concerns of UK brands.
Emily Xu, IPR Strategic Cooperation Manager at Taobao & Tmall Group, presented on the latest developments and innovative practices in IP protection. Guo Ying, Director of Intellectual Property Protection and Brand Cooperation, joined the Q&A session.
Member companies including Diageo, Reckitt, Unilever, Holland & Barrett, Hasbro, GTechniq, Haleon, Bird & Bird, Burberry, Sycamore Synapse Consultancy, RELX, Westwell, Bloomsbury Publishing PLC and Hawksford engaged in discussion.
