CBBC Hosts Business Dialogue with Pudong New Area Government
On Friday, 16 August, the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) held a business dialogue with Shanghai Pudong New Area. The group of 25 CBBC members were led by Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC.
Yang Chao, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Pudong New Area Committee, Executive Vice Mayor of Pudong New Area attended the event, along with officials from Pudong government departments.
Tom Simpson thanked Pudong for their support of CBBC in his opening remarks and stated his hopes for future cooperation and collaboration.
Yang Chao provided an outlook of Pudong’s future development plans and beneficial policies for foreign companies.
Attending the event were CBBC member companies including IHG, Savills, Holland & Barret, Smith Group, Smith & Nephew. The CBBC member companies provided a brief overview of their business operations in China and addressed questions with relevant departments of Pudong. The meeting covered a wide range of business sectors, including manufacturing, property, hospitality and consulting.

The UK Business Dialogue provides a platform for CBBC members to learn about the most recent policies and developments affecting trade and the economy in regions and cities across the country.
In addition, CBBC members will be able to ask questions and provide feedback on the local business environment as well as trade and investment policies.
Coming up, we will hold two further business dialogues with Shenzhen (Wednesday, 28 August), and Guangzhou (Thursday, 29 August).
