CBBC & Guangdong Join Forces to Host Promotion Event in London

The event was attended by 150 of the top British businesses and institutions, including AstraZeneca, HSBC, Prudential, Jardine Matheson, Standard Chartered, KPMG, and more. Fifty business owners from Guangdong Province engaged in in-depth conversations and collaboration with local British business representatives.
“Guangdong will work to foster a market-oriented and law-based international business environment, offer effective services for the development of various businesses and talents, encourage more fruitful collaboration between Guangdong and the UK, and contribute more to promoting friendship between China and the UK,” said Lin Keqing, the Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair of the CBBC, said: “We and our members very much appreciate the support we receive from the Guangdong government and the cooperation built over the years and decades, and I have been most encouraged by your acknowledgement of CBBC’s work to foster economic ties between the UK and Guangdong.”
The Minister for Economic & Commercial Affairs from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the UK, Bao Ling praised Guangdong's achievements in economic development and Guangdong's leadership in strengthening bilateral cooperation. She also encouraged British businesses to invest in Guangdong.
The focus of the conference was investment cooperation between Guangdong and the UK in the context of the Greater Bay Area. The conference introduced the supporting policies and business environment of Guangdong, and promoted the major industries and investment opportunities in Guangzhou, Foshan, Yangjiang, and other cities.
