CBBC Co-Hosts UK–China Business Forum in Shanghai
Peter Kyle, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, joined a panel discussion reflecting on the Prime Minister’s visit to China and the future opportunities for British businesses in the market. The panel was chaired by Lewis Neal, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner.

CBBC Chair Sir Sebastian Wood delivered opening remarks, noting that the PM’s visit had “laid the foundation for further commercial collaborations” and signalled “a new chapter for UK-China cooperation.”
Two further panels were hosted on the topics of innovation and consumption, exploring the opportunities for deepening UK-Chinese business.
Pascal Soriot, Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca, discussed the pharmaceutical company’s major announcements earlier in the week during a fireside chat with Peter Burnett, Chief Executive of CBBC.

CBBC will share further updates on the forum and reflections on the Prime Minister’s visit in due course.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our event partners AstraZeneca, Bridgepoint, HSBC, Johnson Matthey, Octopus Energy and Reckitt, and special thanks to the UK Government for entrusting us as organiser.
