CBBC Chief Executive and Member Companies Meet with SAMR
On Thursday, 19 September, the China-Britain Business Council’s Chief Executive Peter Burnett visited the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and met with Liu Jiannan, Director General, Dept. of Intl’ Cooperation. Also in attendance at the meeting were Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC and representatives of CBBC member companies including RELX, Diageo, Holland & Barrett, Unilever, Haleon, Reckitt, Pernod Ricard and bp.
During the meeting, CBBC member companies addressed their questions and shared their expectations with the SAMR. The topics covered several key areas that are of concern for British companies, such as market access, market promotion and brand protection.
Peter Burnett concluded the meeting by expressing CBBC’s appreciation for SAMR's efforts in improving the business environment, particularly by enhancing market access for MNCs. He stated that CBBC will continue to engage closely with SAMR to support the British businesses looking to expand their presence in the Chinese market, fostering a mutually beneficial economic relationship.
