Meeting with Shenzhen Party Secretary 

CBBC Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles met with Shenzhen Party Secretary Meng Fanli.         

Visit to Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science & Technology Innovation Zone

During this visit, Huang Wei, Party Secretary of Futian District, provided an insightful introduction to Hetao's overview and location. Subsequently, accompanied by Zhu Jiang, Deputy District Governor of the Shenzhen Futian District People's Government, the delegation engaged in a discussion with Henry Rong, Associate Director, I&T Ecosystem Development Greater Bay Area of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). The delegation was briefed on the policies and advantages of HKSTP.

Visit to Tencent HQ

Following the Hetao visit, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles toured Tencent Exhibition Hall and conducted a meeting with the Tencent team in Europe and China.  

Welcome Dinner for the UK-Greater Bay Area Conference

In the evening, CBBC hosted the Welcome Dinner for the UK-Greater Bay Area Conference with over 50 attendees from the governments and businesses of the UK and China. 

During the dinner, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles highlighted that:

"The British business community is watching the development of the Greater Bay Area with huge interest, considering it to be an important driver for their China operations."

Meanwhile, he expressed high expectations for the UK-Greater Bay Area Conference the following day which would be a tremendous opportunity to further understanding of the opportunities which the GBA offers.
