CBBC Chair Visit Begins with Sichuan Party Secretary Meeting
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles expressed optimism about the strengthening of UK-China relations and the promising opportunities for collaboration between the UK and Sichuan. He reaffirmed CBBC’s role as a bridge, supporting its member companies in expanding their investments and operations in Sichuan, while offering services to assist Sichuan businesses in reaching global markets.
During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui expressed his hope that the CBBC and its members would continue the “Icebreaker Spirit” and called on CBBC to foster greater exchanges and collaboration between Sichuan and the UK, supporting more member companies in investing and establishing operations in the province. He also invited global companies specialising in finance, insurance, law, and accounting to expand their presence in Sichuan. Wang Xiaohui assured the delegation of Sichuan’s commitment to providing support and creating a supportive investment environment for business.
CBBC's Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles and Chief Executive Peter Burnett, accompanied by a delegation of member companies, commenced their second visit to China this year on Monday, 18 November. This visit will cover Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing. The programme includes a series of meetings with senior Chinese government officials and events designed to engage with CBBC members and stakeholders across China.
