CBBC Chair Meets with MIIT Minister Jin Zhuanglong
Minister Jin said China will continue to open and provide opportunities for British and other foreign companies while advancing new industrialisation. MIIT wishes to collaborate with the UK to accelerate the digital technology-enabled manufacturing transformation, promote AI cooperation and innovation, strengthen biliteral cooperation in connected vehicles, green industry, and low-carbon, among other topics, and continue to develop the UK-China Industrial Cooperation Partnership (ICP).
Sir Sherard emphasised that enhancing cooperation between the UK and China aligns with the interests of both countries. CBBC will continue to support the expansion of British companies in China and encouraging further outcomes in UK-China industrial cooperation.
During the meeting, Sir Sherard also reflected the key outcomes of CBBC and MIIT’s collaboration under the framework of the first UK-China Industrial Cooperation Dialogue (ICD) in critical areas of new technologies, as well as CBBC's commitment to maintain this momentum with a view to holding a second ICD.
The meeting was attended by Andrew Seaton, Chief Executive, CBBC, Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC, and senior representatives from CBBC member companies including Jaguar Land Rover, Baker Hughes, bp, RELX, and Deloitte.
