The meeting was also attended by Andrew Seaton, Chief Executive, CBBC, Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC and senior representatives from CBBC member companies including HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, abrdn, Prudential, LSEG, and Schroders.

During the meeting, Minister Li and his team shared the NFRA’s views on a range of points raised by CBBC and the member companies present. The discussion covered market access for foreign financial institutions, pensions and asset management, wealth management, the prospect of continued regulatory liberalisation, and green and sustainable finance.

Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles also shared CBBC’s perspective on economic ties between the UK and China and the importance of engagement. Sir Sherard added that UK financial services firms wish to do more in China and welcomed the NFRA’s support for CBBC’s member companies to open new growth opportunities.
