CBBC Chair Meets Jiangsu Governor Xu Kunlin
Andrew Seaton, Chief Executive, CBBC, Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC, and member companies from various sectors including DLA Piper, Deloitte, Johnson Matthey, Smith & Nephew, IHG Group, Cranswick, also attended the meeting.
Xu Kunlin welcomed Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles and the delegation and expressed appreciation for CBBC's support of Jiangsu and the UK's trade and economic cooperation. Following a brief overview of Jiangsu's development, Xu emphasised the UK's significance as a key economic and trade partner for Jiangsu. Recognising the prosperous partnership in which British companies took advantage of Jiangsu's opportunities, he encouraged CBBC to maintain its key role as a bridge, providing a high-quality platform for bilateral cooperation.
Xu hopes for more British investment and business expansion in Jiangsu, especially in fields like scientific innovation, financial services, green energy, and the digital economy. The goal is to continuously achieve mutually beneficial results, contributing to the enduring and stable development of China-UK relations. Xu assured commitment to providing plenty of space and efficient services for international businesses in Jiangsu.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles recognised Jiangsu's economic strength and positive growth momentum. He stressed that CBBC and its members will continue to seek out opportunities in Jiangsu, encourage more UK businesses to establish operations in the region as well as investment into the UK.
