CBBC Chair Meets with Beijing Mayor Yin Yong
Yin Yong expressed his hope that the CBBC will continue to act as a bridge, encourage more British companies to know Beijing and to invest in Beijing, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as technological innovation, digital economy, finance, and consumption, and continuously promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Sir Sherard and the delegation recognised Beijing's advantages in terms of talent resources and technological innovation, and expressed CBBC's and members' optimism about the Chinese market. "CBBC will further harness our strengths to foster cooperation with Beijing and encourage the development of more British companies in Beijing." Sir Sherard declared.
Also attending the meetings were Gordon Orr, Vice Chair, CBBC, Peter Burnett, Head of Corporate Finance (Greater China & North Asia), Standard Chartered Bank, and incoming Chief Executive, CBBC, Tom Simpson, Managing Director, China, CBBC. Additionally, other participants included senior executives from member companies including abrdn, Baker Hughes, Clifford Chance, Cranswick, HSBC, KPMG, PwC, RELX, Standard Chartered, Schroders, Unilever.
