CBBC Chair Handover Visit Kicks Off in Shaanxi
The China-Britain Business Council’s (CBBC) Chair Handover Visit kicked off on Sunday in Xian. Over the next two week’s CBBC’s new Chair, Sir Sebastian Wood, together with Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, who has concluded his time as Chair earlier this month, will visit Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen from Sunday, 9 November to Friday, 21 November. The visit features a comprehensive programme of meetings and engagements with government representatives, CBBC members and key stakeholders.

CBBC Chair Sebastian Wood and Former Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles met with Zhao Yide, Party Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, and Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi on Sunday, 9th November in Xi’an for “Invest in China, Choose Shaanxi” activity.
Invest in China. Choose Shaanxi 2025 China (Shaanxi) Multinational Corportate Industry Cooperation Conference was held on Monday, 10 November in Xi’an. Zhao Yide, Party Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, attended and spoke at the opening ceremony. CBBC’s Chair, Sir Sebastian Wood, delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.
Meeting with CITIC GROUP
On Monday, 10th November, CBBC met with Xi Guohua, Chair of CITIC Group, in Xi’an. Chair Xi spoke on CITIC’s role as a bridge connecting China with the outside world. Chair Xi invited CBBC to deepen the collaboration with CITIC’s “Foreign Enterprises China Tour” programme. Sir Sebastian Wood reviewed the progress between two parties over recent months and raised ways in which CBBC and CITIC could work together to facilitate UK-China trade and investment. Subsequently members of CBBC’s leadership team and senior leaders from CITIC’s departments, joint ventures and subsidiaries gave reports on their work and shared specific opportunities for collaboration.
Visit to Taikoo Li Xi’an Project
On Tuesday, 11 November, CBBC visited Taikoo Li Xi’an Project, where the delegation met with Alan Lee, General Manager of Taikoo Li Xi’an, and demonstrated the project process.
