CBBC becomes a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Belt & Road Global Forum
The Global Forum was established by the HKTDC in 2018 and now comprises 171 member associations across 46 countries and regions. It is an alliance focusing on business collaboration, communication and cross-fertilisation in trade, investment and infrastructure in the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI).
Represented by our CEO, Peter Burnett OBE, BBS, we were delighted to join the 2024 Round Table Discussion which took place last week on 13th September in Hong Kong.
Peter Burnett OBE, BBS, Chief Executive, China-Britain Business Council with Margaret Fong, Executive Director of the HKTDC and Andrew Weir, Co-Convener of the Belt & Road & Greater Bay Area Committee
Peter spoke of the opportunities for British businesses to support trade and investment in many developing countries. “Although the UK is not formally a member of the BRI, many British companies are able to make a contribution to the development agenda in BRI countries through their expertise in consulting, engineering, advanced manufacturing, finance and, particularly, sustainability.”
Hong Kong will continue to leverage its long-established position as an effective commercial platform for Belt and Road opportunities as well as the city’s role as both a “super-connector” and a “super value-adder” for global businesses.
