CBBC and BIST Hold Third Rare Earths Roundtable for British Business on China’s Export Controls
The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) together with the UK Government’s Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST) welcomed more than 20 British businesses for the third CBBC-BIST China Rare Earth Export Controls Roundtable.
The roundtable took place in London on 11th August. Representatives from the Government presented on the UK’s Critical Minerals Strategy, including the development of a Demand Aggregation Platform to support the stable supply of rare earths to UK industry, and engagement with China on rare earth export controls.
Subsequently, companies shared their experience navigating China’s export controls system over recent months, with the conversation focused on issues with licence applications and preparations for the potential resumption of China’s expanded rare earth export controls in November.
