Over the course of the week, delegates visited leading innovation platforms, met with entrepreneurs and industry leaders, and explored a range of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, autonomous driving and biotechnology.

The programme provided delegates with first-hand insight into China's rapidly evolving innovation ecosystem and the latest developments shaping its technology sectors. Through meetings, site visits and exchanges with local partners, participants gained a deeper understanding of the opportunities for UK-China collaboration in innovation, research and commercialisation.

The visit also highlighted China's continued transformation from a manufacturing powerhouse into a global centre for technology and innovation.

This mission forms part of the CBBC Delegation Programme 2026, which aims to create opportunities for British companies to engage with leading Chinese businesses, connect with government stakeholders, learn about emerging technologies and market developments, and identify new avenues for growth and partnership.
