Calls for nominations to UK-China Industrial Cooperation Partnership (ICP) - apply by 24th April!

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) cordially invites organizations to apply for nominations for the second batch of UK-China Industrial Cooperation Model Projects. This call specifies three categories for nominations and application conditions and procedures, with submissions due by Friday, 24 April 2026.

About UK-China Industrial Cooperation Partnership Model Projects:

To thoroughly act on the consensus reached by the Chinese and UK leaders on jointly building a UK-China global comprehensive strategic partnership for the 21st century, and to implement the requirement set forth in the Policy Outcomes of the 11th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue that "the two sides support deepening an industry-led UK-China Industrial Cooperation Partnership", hereby call for nominations on the Second Batch of UK - China Industrial Cooperation Model Projects. The initiative aims to foster a number of advanced examples of China-UK modern industrial cooperation, to effectively guide and advance China-UK modern industrial cooperation.

Categories for nominations:

Focusing on key areas of China-UK cooperation such as modern industries, education & training and industrial parks, we will select projects that are representative, innovative, feasible and economically viable. These projects will play an exemplary and leading role, promote mutual learning between China and the UK, explore replicable and scalable models for China-UK industrial cooperation and advance the demonstration projects of China-UK modern industrial cooperation.

Cooperation projects in the automotive sector, particularly in new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles; Green manufacturing cooperation projects in areas including green transformation of traditional manufacturing industries and innovation in green manufacturing technologies; Intelligent manufacturing cooperation projects in fields such as intelligent manufacturing equipment and products, as well as intelligent management and services; Cooperation projects in emerging sectors including industrial digital transformation, artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy and new materials; Cooperation projects in technological innovation, innovation in cooperation paradigms and standardization.

China-UK industrial Park/Hub Model projects that host a large number of UK enterprises, feature a high proportion of UK capital, demonstrate strong industrial cooperation exemplariness, possess sound basic hardware facilities, provide comprehensive public services, embody distinctive local industrial characteristics and enjoy broad cooperation prospects.

Projects for the training of senior professionals in manufacturing and industrial digitalization, vocational technician training and cooperation among talent training institutions.

Application Conditions and Procedures:

  1. Project applicants must be entities registered in China, including manufacturing enterprises, information technology enterprises, research institutes, consortia composed of the above, and industrial parks. Projects may be located in either China or the UK. Submission of cooperation projects involving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is encouraged.
  2. The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) shall organize the review of the application materials for demonstration projects. Following selection and recognition, best practices of the demonstration projects will be summarized, publicized and promoted and industry-wide experience exchanges and enterprise matchmaking activities will be organized.
  3. The demonstration projects shall be included in the key project pool of the "UK-China Industrial Cooperation Partnership (ICP)". Progress tracking and supervision of the demonstration projects will be strengthened and coordination will be provided to address issues arising during implementation.

All entities are requested to submit the relevant materials for the recommended projects to CBBC by April 24th, 2026 (Friday).
