Mark Xu is Director, Industrial Economy, CBBC China. Mark looks after all aspects of this broad sector which include automotive, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare and life sciences. Mark works closely with both UK and Chinese Government departments and trade associations to deliver research reports, trade missions, partner and agent identification to assist UK companies in entering the China market and Chinese companies expanding into the UK.
Over the past few years, Mark has introduced some exciting new services such as the Supply and Sourcing Service to better serve CBBC members’ needs. He has also successfully organised events including the World Manufacturing Convention in Anhui, the East China Auto Mission, and the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai.
Before joining CBBC, Mark spent over 12 years in a UK engineering company, over 10 years of which he spent as the company’s Chief Representative and General Manager for its China subsidiary.
Mark is bilingual in Chinese and English, has a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering and BCom in Commerce from the University of Birmingham, an MBA from Business School Netherlands and is a Certified Financial Analyst.
