15/05/2025
On 14th May 2025, the China-Britain Business Council held an event on Driving Student Recruitment through Chinese Social Media alongside Emerging Comms. The specially tailored half-day session explored the fundamentals of driving recruitment of Chinese students via social media.

A must-attend for any university or educational organisations, the event provided insights from leading experts as well as ample opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange with like-minded peers.

We heard from leading industry speakers: Domenica Di Lieto, CEO, Emerging Comms; Chloe Chen, Research and Planning Specialist, Emerging Comms; Rocky Chi, Head of Strategy and Planning, Emerging Comms; Catherine Shipley, Senior Adviser, Education / Knowledge Economy, China-Britain Business Council; and Jet Tu, freelance filmmaker and Chinese Key Opinion Leader.

Attendees explored education sector highlights and key takeaways, including:

  • Learning which marketing narratives most resonate with Chinese students;
  • Hearing about examples of real, impactful campaigns;
  • Examples of what not to do!;
  • Learning about the unique characteristics and expectations of today's Chinese students;
  • Hearing from a Chinese KOL (Jet Tu) and learning about the role KOLs can play in driving student recruitment.
