CBBC signs MoU with ICBC on side-lines of the China International Import Expo
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles said:
“CBBC works with 500 companies and universities, for many of whom financial services are an indispensable component when entering China. Thus, we firmly believe that by working hand in hand with ICBC, we will be better positioned to support British businesses when investing and expanding in the Chinese market.
ICBC London has provided invaluable services to our members, ranging from introductions and registration assistance, to facilitating account-opening services – and here at CIIE this year, are offering an essential and visible platform to exhibit through the ICBC pavilion. This is a vivid illustration of how ICBC is enabling European enterprises, and especially British enterprises, to gain access to and succeed in the Chinese market. To cite a very concrete example: this year, five of our member companies, at the kind invitation of ICBC London, are participating in ICBC’s Food Pavilion. In addition, one company that joined ICBC’s booth last year, having witnessed first-hand the dynamism of the Chinese market and experienced the China International Import Expo, went on this year to sign directly with the CIIE Bureau to host its own presence here as an exhibitor.”
This year, CBBC supported several British brands to exhibit at ICBC's pavilion at CIIE, including AHDB, Holland & Barrett, The Fine Cheese Co, Artisan Biscuits, Taylors of Harrogate, Whittard of Chelsea, Ahmad Tea, and Proprotein. These brands represent the quality and heritage of British consumer products, further deepening commercial ties and mutual understanding between the UK and China.
