Kiran Patel

Kiran Patel is Senior Director, Commercial, CBBC China. He leads our commercial, sector, marketing & communications and client services across the country; driving development of our commercial services  and optimising service delivery for our clients.​

​Kiran is deeply knowledgeable on China and has been an active member of the UK-China business community for nearly two decades. He has been living in China since 2004 and has a comprehensive skillset in business development, marketing, and communications, cutting across both the private and public sectors. ​

​Kiran joined the China-Britain Business Council from the British Council in 2018 where he held a diplomatic post in China on behalf of the Cultural & Education Section of the British Embassy; and as Director, Strategic Communications & Corporate Relations led on external marketing, communications & events; internal communications & staff engagement; digital, strategic campaigns and CRM & knowledge management. He was responsible for developing new revenue streams and has brought this wealth of experience to CBBC.​

​Prior to this, Kiran worked in the Professional Services sector, co-founded and built an EdTech business in China reaching a scale of 20 staff and 2 offices and has previously held both elected and ex-officio positions on the Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in China.​

​Kiran is proficient in Chinese Mandarin to HSK level 5 and is an active representative and spokesperson for CBBC.

 

Emily Spearpoint Walsh

Emily Spearpoint Walsh is Senior International Engagement Manager on the UKCA International Team at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. Emily studied French and Italian for her BA at the University of Bristol, followed by a Masters in International Relations at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands. Within her current role, Emily is responsible for promoting the new UKCA marking across the globe, through webinars and international visits.
