UK-China Women in Science & Technology Forum

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) would like to invite you to join the upcoming UK-China Women in Science & Technology Forum on Thursday 27 February in Suzhou.

Date:Thursday 27 February

Time: 10:00 - 17:15 (China time)

Venue: Suzhou (details TBC)

Language: English with Chinese translation

Note: CBBC’s allocation of seats is limited in number. Please register to express interest in attending the Forum using the below QR code. Guests who are successful in applying will receive a confirmation email with further details about attending the Forum.

The Forum, hosted by the British Government and supported by the CBBC, offers a full-day programme of speeches, panel discussions, breakout sessions and seminars, aiming to:

  • Inspire more female students into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers

  • Raise awareness of obstacles faced by women in STEM 

  • Share solutions and positive case studies to drive change

  • Foster UK-China collaboration to advance the roles of women working within STEM industries

During the Forum, the British Ambassador to China, Dame Caroline Wilson DCMG, will host a panel discussion with a delegation of British and Chinese female STEM leaders, including but not limited to:

 

  • Prof. Marika Taylor, Pro Vice Chancellor & Head of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Birmingham

  • Prof. Sue Black OBE FRSA, Professor of Computer Science, Durham University

  • Dr Fiona McNeill, FBCS, FRSE – Reader of Computing Education, University of Edinburgh

  • Prof. Lynne Corner, COO of the UK National Innovation Centre for Ageing & Director of VOICE

Throughout the Forum, attendees will have the opportunity to speak with professionals and experts working within a wide range of STEM subjects, so as to share their own experiences, develop their networks and learn from leaders in their fields.
