Sustainable Trade and Investment: How to Engage With China to Support Post-pandemic Economic Growth

Make sure you join CBBC, DBT and MCF for an event kindly hosted by KPMG to explore how Northern businesses can capitalise on the opportunities presented by China’s post-pandemic reopening.
China is the second largest global economy and the UK’s third largest trading partner. Total trade between the UK and China was worth £111 billion in 2022. UK exports to China amounted to £37.6 billion, a 37.7% year-on-year increase. Of this £27.6 billion was goods exports (+53.6% YoY) and £10 billion was service exports (+7.2% YoY).
Many UK businesses have found huge success in the China market. But the global economic slowdown, the covid pandemic, and geo-political tensions have all had an impact on the environment for international business there.
Our line-up of speakers from business, academia and government will discuss the prospects for trade with China supporting post-pandemic economic growth, revitalising UK exports, and stimulating regional investment opportunities.
