Kiran Patel, Senior Director, Commercial, China-Britain Business Council
Kiran Patel is Senior Director, Commercial, CBBC China. He has been living in China since 2004 and has a comprehensive skillset in business development, marketing, and communications, cutting across both the private and public sectors. Kiran joined the China-Britain Business Council from the British Council where he held a diplomatic post in China on behalf of the Cultural & Education Section of the British Embassy. Prior to this, he worked in the Professional Services sector. At CBBC, Kiran leads our commercial, sector, marketing and communications teams across China. Kiran is deeply knowledgeable on China and has been an active member of the UK-China business community over a prolonged period.
Dr Dan Wang, Chief Economist, Hang Seng Bank
Dr Dan Wang is the chief economist at Hang Seng Bank China, based in Shanghai. Dan holds a PhD in economics from the University of Washington, with a focus in macroeconomics, environmental economics and econometrics. Her postdoc was with the Chinese Academy of Sciences in agriculture. She's regularly quoted in international media and write columns for several media, including FT China and Pengpai (the Paper). Before joining Hang Seng Bank, Dan was previously an analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Beijing.
James Macdonald, Senior Director of Research China, Savills
James Macdonald is the Head of Savills Research, China. Since joining Savills in 2007, James has been actively involved in the growth of the Research department, advising and liaising with, numerous international and domestic developers such as Tishman Speyer, SHK, Hines, CRC and Riofisa. He has also advised a number of the more active investment institutions including Treasury Holdings, Grosvenor, Morgan Stanley and SEB, with reports covering a wide variety of developments including mixed and single use projects in Shanghai, Harbin, Nanjing, Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.
