Premium Member Event: Geoeconomics in an Age of Chinese Ascendancy, with Sir Vince Cable
Sir Vince is the former Leader of the Liberal Democrats and served as Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills in the coalition government between 2010 and 2015. During this period, he oversaw major reforms in corporate governance, banking, industrial policy, labour market and higher education, helping to shape the UK's economic recovery following the global financial crisis.
Drawing on decades of experience in government, economics and international affairs, Sir Vince will share his perspectives on China’s economic trajectory, its strategic competition and interdependence with the West, the future of globalisation, and how governments and businesses are navigating an increasingly complex and multipolar world.
The discussion will be moderated by our Chairman, Sir Sebastian Wood, former British Ambassador to China, and conducted under the Chatham House Rule, allowing for an open and candid exchange of views.
