Metaverse Fashion Week x TONG: Dematerialisation in Fashion
Opening the discussion on dematerialisation in fashion is Head of Metaverse Fashion Week Dr. Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro, featuring Chinese fashion designer guest speakers Chenpeng and Fengchen Wang.
The panel will explore the new world of virtual fashion from a Chinese perspective, emerging trends from cutting edge brands and how dematerialisation is shaping the future of fashion.
Following the discussion emerging Chinese designers Formless (Peini Yu & Linxi Zhu) and Victor Wong will showcase their work in the House of Synergos, the bespoke virtual opera house designed by Sybarite.
High fashion goes virtual this month with Metaverse Fashion Week.
Launched in 2020, Decentraland is the first open-source virtual world and decentralised metaverse. Designed around the theme of Future Heritage, this year’s Fashion Week event is all about immersive brand experiences. With over 60 brands, from luxury fashion houses to digital natives, the week will feature an array of digital wearables and breakthrough activations through runway shows, workshops, music and after-parties.
From DKNY’S rooftop gallery-pizzeria-lounge to BALENCIAGA’s ‘New Code’ runway collection, Coach’s virtual try on platform and Tommy Hilfiger’s community competition (the winner is hand-picked by Tommy himself), MVFW lets the imagination of some of the world’s top fashion houses run wild.
The event shines a light on the fashion industry of today, proposing a diversity of aesthetics across metaverses, connecting innovation to tradition, and looking back to the great moments of fashion to build the future.
Visitors can attend any number of shows as their own unique avatar through Decentraland here.
