Event background
In April 2024 China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the "Circular on the Pilot Work of Expanding the Opening-up of Value-added Telecommunications Businesses", Shanghai Lingang New Area and Pudong New Area will be the first pilot areas for value-added telecom opening up in 5 types of business licenses (without share ratio restriction) for foreign enterprises, including cloud services, network access, online shopping malls, Internet of Things (IoT), and application stores etc.
CBBC will host a policy interpretation meeting on sharing the opening policy, development environment and cooperation opportunities of the value-added telecom market in Shanghai on December 10th.
