The CBBC is pleased to invite members to attend an Ask the Analyst seminar on the current state of UK-China relations with Dr Yu Jie, senior research fellow on China at Chatham House.

Dr Yu will speak on shifts in the UK-China relationship that have taken place of late, addressing questions including:

-       How the UK-China relationship has evolved from experience a ‘Golden Era’ to needing an Engagement Strategy

-       How China considers the UK’s approach to the relationship

-       What UK companies should consider when doing business in China from a geopolitical standpoint

-       The future of Chinese diplomacy

Open to all members online across China and the UK, this session will take the form of a discussion-based seminar.

Joining this session will enable you to put your questions to Dr Yu directly and discuss with other policy professionals how the UK-China relationship will likely play out and impact on the interests of British business.

Dr Yu Jie is senior research fellow on China in the Asia-Pacific Programme at Chatham House, focusing on the decision-making process of Chinese foreign policy as well as China’s economic diplomacy.

She speaks and writes frequently at major media outlets such as BBC and Financial Times; and regularly briefs senior policy practitioners from the G7 member governments, the UK Cabinet Office and the Silk Road Fund in Beijing, as well as major FTSE 100 corporates.

Yu Jie has testified at the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee and International Trade Committee, and was also head of China Foresight at LSE IDEAS.
