CBBC Initiatives 特色项目

Business Programme

Our business programme encourages CBBC Members to network with others interested in China; learn lessons from China-savvy multinationals and SMEs; understand some of the intricacies of doing business in China; read up on the latest news and developments; hear about the latest opportunities; and learn where and how to expand in the fast-changing and dynamic marketplace that is modern China.

High profile events

Business Forums and Roundtables combined with Networking Receptions in London and Shanghai, where we examine China’s aspirations and the challenges and opportunities for UK business. Key contributors are called upon to share ideas on China's economy, development, business and social trends. The events are well attended by members, guests and leaders from business and government.

Members’ Briefings

A monthly programme for CBBC Members. Recent speakers have included Ambassador Sebastian Wood, Gordon Orr, Chairman of Mckinsey Asia, Philip Carmichael, Vince President of Haier and The Global Heritage Foundation talking about their projects in China. Briefings are held at CBBC HQ in London and are generally followed by a networking drink.

China Association Lunches

The China Association, to which all CBBC members automatically belong, holds well attended quarterly lunches addressed by excellent speakers: Lord Hurd, Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP; Lord Davies of Abersoch; Journalist Rob Gifford; Simon Featherstone, Director of the UK Shanghai Expo Programme; Dr Kerry Brown, Senior Fellow, Asia Programme at Asia House and the Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming. The Association’s President is Sir Andrew Burns and the Chairman is Hugh Davies.

China Tomorrow

An on-going series of events promoting opportunities for technology transfer and joint technology development between UK and Chinese enterprises and research organisations. Read more about the inititiative here or contact Chris Cotton.

Going Global

An on-going series of events in China where UK financial services companies present to a Chinese business audience the UK’s financial services industry can help develop their businesses and position the UK as the partner of choice for Chinese companies seeking capital or to expand internationally.

Inward Delegations

We host a steady stream of inward delegations from across China, introducing them to UK companies.  These visits provide useful opportunities to learn more about the opportunities in a particular area, as well as forge relationships with key decision makers and Chinese companies.  We encourage more of these delegations to visit centres outside London.

Sector Groups

CBBC currently holds quarterly sector meetings in five key areas including: Financial and Professional Services, ICT, Lifesciences, Agriculture and Education.  The meetings aim to share knowledge and information, to inform companies of CBBC and UKTI initiatives and for companies active in the sector to get together and learn from each other. The quarterly meetings are open to UK companies and Chinese investors as well as members and non-members alike. To find out more, contact us.

Market Visits

CBBC organises missions to the Chinese market.  For the latest information visit our Events Calendar.

Policy Work

Members have the opportunity to provide input into high level UK-China trade policy discussions.  We work closely with UKTI to consult with businesses to raise awareness of trade policy matters that may be affecting your business development in China.  High level talks between the UK and China take place under the Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) and the Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETC).  Members are regularly invited to raise key issues that could help shape the EFD and JETC discussions.

Events

We have a full and varied programme of seminars, conferences, dinners, lunches, networking and other events, both in the UK and China.  In the UK we arranged or participated in some 188 events across the length and breadth of the country on a wide variety of subjects. In China, the alliance with Britcham in Beijing has led to a significant increase in the number of events, something our members tell us they want.
