Mr Yu Zhengsheng, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee addresses CBBC dinner

Last night, CBBC hosted a successful business dinner for Mr Yu Zhengsheng, the Party Secretary of Shanghai. Mr Yu addressed a gathering of 150 senior British and Chinese businesspeople and officials on Shanghai’s development plans and its 2020 Vision to become an international financial centre.

Tesco, Huawei and Bank of China are sponsors for the business dinner. Honoured guests include the Chinese Ambassador Liu Xiaoming, Minister of State for Trade & Investment Lord Green, Commercial Secretary to H M Treasury Lord Sassoon, Chairman of Shanghai’s Commission of Commerce Sha Hailin, Chairman of SAIC Hu Maoyuan (SAIC own MG Rover and have a significant R&D operation in Birmingham), Chairman of Shanghai Electric Xu Jianguo. The dinner for 150 in a prestigious central London venue is exclusive to CBBC members and includes senior executives working in key China-UK businesses.
