Sports Breakfasts 12 & 22 August
To provide an opportunity for UK suppliers to network with members of visiting delegations from bid- or host-cities holding major sports events. Buffet breakfasts with tables for seating, up to 40-45 people each at the Ambassador’s Residence.
RIBA “Cities for future fulfilment” seminar and lunch 22 August
Organised by the Royal Institute of British Architects, with the Architectural Society
of China, this morning seminar (10-12 followed by lunch) will focus on UK design/
architecture with an intended audience of government officials, private developers, the design community, architects and planners. At the Residence for 50-100, with stand-up buffet lunch.
“Using design to improve business performance” seminar 22 August
Design seminar and showing of new Love and Money film Electronic exhibition showcasing 50 years of Creative Britain. At London House, an afternoon seminar, followed by drinks reception, co-hosted by Think London. Organised by CBBC for UKTI Sectors Group.
Reception to launch UKTI’s London 2012 Legacy programmes 23 August
A major cocktail reception for 250-300, launching UKTI’s programmes to deliver a UK- wide economic legacy from the hosting of the 2012 Games, through promotion of export and attraction of inward investment and partnership. Audience: international, UK and Chinese companies, decision makers and government ministers/officials.
“Winning with Innovation” project media launch reception 25 or 26 August
To launch the media reports showcasing UK sporting technologies, filmed/recorded in the UK in April. (Reports will be published in the 12 days between the Olympic and Paralympic Games.) Working with Science and Innovation and Press and Public Affairs Sections of the Embassy, UKTI will organise a reception with media footage/display of technologies. For 200-250 including participating companies, their contacts, journalists, Chinese government officials and business guests.
