"I am leaving for China tomorrow on a business trip. What do I need to know?"
Look through CBBC's China Guide.

Participating in a sector-specific seminar is a good way of demonstrating your company's expertise to a group of targeted Chinese decision-makers. Many companies find that this is an effective method of visiting the market.

UK Trade & Investment* sponsor many seminars in China enabling British companies to participate in these events with the aid of a grant.

CBBC Seminars
CBBC has extensive experience of organising UK Trade & Investment-supported seminar visits to China. These seminars, all of which have a specific focus, have covered a wide range of sectors including financial services, environment, agriculture, aerospace, metros & light rail and food processing.

Presenting a series of seminars in different locations provides participants with a platform from which to demonstrate expertise to a relevant audience of decision-makers. These focused initiatives also include a programme of group meetings and visits to relevant sites and organisations, providing an opportunity to hear about new policies and develop long-term contacts. Furthermore, time is allowed for one-to-one discussions and individual company meetings.

An experienced Mandarin-speaking CBBC seminar manager advises and guides participants throughout the whole visit. This support ranges from an initial individual company consultation to iscuss priorities and objectives, through practical assistance in arranging translation and production of presentation materials, to active and efficient support in China during the seminar. The manager, and CBBC staff in the relevant offices in China, work together to liaise with Chinese host organisations and relevant bodies to secure appropriate level support in China and to co-ordinate the practical logistics involved in setting up a seminar.

Support for non-CBBC Seminars and Event Management
CBBC is also able to support other companies and organisations with China events. We offer a full range of logistical assistance including:
• translation and printing of brochures, seminar materials etc
• research, production, distribution and follow-up of invitations
• liaison with host organisations
• supplier hire and liaison (e.g. venues, interpreters, audio-visual equipment)
• arranging group meetings and site visits with relevant sector-specific organisations
• administration and co-ordination of receptions
• arranging visa invitation letters for UK participants

This is just one of the many ways in which CBBC can help promote British business in China. To discuss your specific requirements please contact Alexandra Heywood on 020 7802 2010 or alex.heywood@cbbc.org
