The tenth Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) between the UK and China took place in London on 17th June. During the EFD, the UK and Chinese Governments reiterated their commitment to fostering a global comprehensive strategic partnership for the 21st Century. Both sides attach great importance to the “Golden Era” of UK-China relations, agreeing to deepen strategic economic collaboration, boost bilateral trade and investment, and deepen financial links, and are committed to working together towards the UN’s sustainable development goals, actively promoting equality and diversity, and creating a prosperous society for all.
The EFD included a series of activities, including the Financial Services Summit, which focused on financial and professional services covering BRI, savings and fund management, PPP, Operation Risk, Fintech, and Green Finance, all of which contribute to the increasing opportunities for collaboration between China and the UK in these areas.
As part of the business activities during the EFD, CBBC was delighted to be involved in organising the UK-China Business Dinner in honour of HE Vice Premier Hu Chunhua, with guests including the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, senior government ministers and officials from both the UK and China, as well as business representatives from both sides.
We are grateful for the generosity and support of the event sponsors: Bank of China, China Construction Bank, CICC, HSBC, and Refinitiv.
Our members are at the heart of this successful economic relationship and we look forward to continuing to work with you to promote new opportunities, tell the story of growth and continue our long and successful trade relationship with China.
