Media Partnership with Business Insider UK

Scotland's only China-focused business awards have returned for their second year, recognising and celebrating achievements in trade and investment between Scotland and China.

Scottish firms have been working hard over the year to forge business partnerships with China and deliver commercial success. It is vitally important that we acknowledge their innovation, effort and commitment and celebrate their outstanding export successes. The Awards serve to showcase the best Scotland has to offer and to encourage other businesses and organisations to look to China as an opportunity.

The China-Britain Business Council is delighted to announce a media partnership with Business Insider UK for The China-Scotland Business Awards 2019. The partnership will give visibility to the Awards and the shortlisted companies across Scotland and beyond.
Ken Symon, Editor, Scottish Business Insider, said:
“We at Scottish Business Insider believe that there are major benefits to be gained from increased business and trading links between Scotland and China and so we are very happy to be the media partner for the China-Britain Business Council Awards 2019.
Last year we marked our belief in the importance of these links with the publication of our first supplement on Doing Business With China; something that we anticipate will become a regular annual event.
There is a growing realisation within the Scottish business community of the range of sectors and businesses that can benefit from increasing trade links so this is something that can only increase in importance.”
Paul Lewis, Managing Director, Scottish Development International, said:
“Scottish Development International is delighted to team up with the China Britain Business Council and organise Scotland’s only China-focused business awards for the second year. We continue to work closely with our partners to deliver support and services to both Scottish and Chinese companies, encouraging inward investment and helping companies to expand internationally. ”
Professor Natascha Gentz, Assistant Principal China and Director of the Confucius Institute for Scotland, The University of Edinburgh, said:
The Confucius Institute for Scotland is very proud to be a partner in the Sino-Scottish Burn Supper for many years. These evenings are a splendid opportunity of truly cross-cultural engagement of Scottish and Chinese cultures in a most convivial atmosphere. The new business awards add a new dimension to the event, featuring and celebrating the best of Sino-Scottish collaboration across a broad spectrum of significant and innovative partnerships.
Ian Baxter, Director of the Scottish Confucius Institute for Business & Communication, Heriot-Watt University, said:
“Heriot-Watt University’s Confucius Institute is delighted to be sponsoring the CBBC China Scotland Business Awards again this year, adding to the support we are providing to businesses in Scotland to understand and appreciate China, and be ‘China ready’. This allies closely to the international and industry focus of the University.”
James Brodie, Regional Director - Scotland & Northern Ireland, China-Britain Business Council, said:
“Delighted for the 2nd year running to have this opportunity to promote success stories of Scottish companies working with China, as well as welcome further Chinese investors into Scotland. There is fantastic momentum for the Chinese market in Scotland right now and I invite all relevant companies and educational organisations to submit an entry: we look forward in anticipation to reading your applications!”
