CBBC is delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Simpson as our new Managing Director, China Operations and Chief China Representative.
Tom has taken up his new appointment from 1st September and will continue to be based in Beijing. His main focus will be to take forward the great work done by Jeff Astle in bringing together the output of our 13 Representative Offices, as well as overseeing the development and implementation of CBBC’s China strategy.
Matthew Rous, CBBC’s Chief Executive, said “we are confident that with Tom Simpson’s experience and proven record, he will effectively lead and support the continued execution of helping British and Chinese businesses and organisations work together in China, the UK and third markets around the world”.
Tom began working with CBBC in 2013 as Chief Representative, Assistant Director in Guangzhou. In 2015, he moved on to Beijing office as Director, Creative Industries & Sports, and was then promoted to Senior Director, Service Delivery (China) in early 2018.
Before CBBC, Tom served as the Chongqing General Manager for the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China from 2010 to 2011, and General Manager, British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong from 2011 to 2013.
